Hello! We made it to Rome yesterday afternoon. Our hotel is right by the Spanish steps so last night before dinner we saw that and the Trevi Fountain, which was really pretty at night.
This morning we are going to head over to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona and whatever else we might find. And this afternoon we plan on doing the Colosseum and that area. Looking forward to what we might see. Any recommendations?
Okay, Kellen... I know we took a picture of Mona Lisa even though we weren't supposed to, but we fit right in with all of those Chinese tourists at the Louvre. No one was taking photos of David at the Accademia so we couldn't be that guy. :)

So much to do in Rome! Go by the Pantheon. There is a great view of the city from Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II. You can't miss it, it's one of the biggest buildings I have ever seen...massive! and Just up from the Colosseum. Santa Maria Maggiore is a beautiful church (I know, you've seen so many churches, but this one is my favorite), close to Termini. Take the metro to the Vittorio Emanuele or Cavour station. That should keep you busy for a while...if I think of anything else I'll post more! Miss you guys, hope you are having a great time! Oh, and eat at La Carbonara if you need a recommendation, get a reservation, it's small.
So...I went to find you the number to La Carbonara, because that's the kind of friend I am:) and apparently there are TWO "La Carbonaras" in Rome, but not the same, just same name...weird. Anyway, we DID NOT go to the one in Campo de Fiori, so if you go there and don't like it, not my fault! Here's the number if you want to go to the one we went to...06.4825176, and it's on "Via Panisperna". And "technically" it's Hosteria La Carbonara. Whew...that was a close one;)
You HAVE to go to the Sistine Chapel!!! I love Roma, so much to do....Rori about summed it up!
I just ate Subway while reading about "beautiful churches" and "Hosteria La Carbonara"....I am feeling very uncultured right now!
